My Journey

My photography journey began in 2012 as a hobby while working as a Personal Trainer. I initially used my photography skills to enhance my online presence. As my talent became evident, colleagues started asking me to photograph them and their clients. That’s when I realized I could turn my passion into a profession.

 

Discovering My Passion

My camera came with me everywhere, capturing all that I encountered from landscapes, music, portraits, and lifestyle. This constant exploration fueled my desire to pursue photography full-time.

Today, I am blessed to be able to do this full time. My dream is to travel the world, create unforgettable memories, and share stunning photos with you along the way.

The Process

  1. Enquire:
    The journey begins with your inquiry. Whether through our website, email, or phone call, reach out to us with your project details and requirements. As part of the initial inquiry, we will provide you with a pre-shoot questionnaire to gather essential information needed to plan your project effectively.
  2. Discovery Call:
    Upon receiving your completed pre-shoot questionnaire, we schedule a discovery call to discuss your vision, goals, and specific needs in detail. This call allows us to further understand your project requirements and tailor our services accordingly.
  3. Quote:
    Following the discovery call and completion of the pre-shoot questionnaire, we provide you with a detailed quote outlining the scope of work, services included, and pricing. Upon acceptance of the quote, a deposit is due to secure your booking. The remaining payment schedule will be outlined based on the shoot schedule.
  4. Shoot Prep:
    Once the quote is accepted and the deposit is received, we begin the shoot preparation process. This may involve selecting locations, gathering necessary equipment, and finalising logistics to ensure a smooth shoot day.
  5. Shoot Day:
    On the scheduled shoot day, our team arrives fully prepared to capture your project with precision and creativity. We work closely with you to ensure every detail is captured according to your vision.
  6. Selects Process:
    After the shoot, we carefully review and select the best images or footage from the session. This process ensures we deliver high-quality content that aligns with your project goals and vision.
  7. Editing:
    Next, we dive into the editing process. Depending on the scope of work and deliverables, editing may take a specified timeframe. We pay attention to every detail, ensuring the final product exceeds your expectations.
  8. Approvals:
    Once the editing is complete, we provide you with a preview of the final content for your review and feedback. We welcome any revisions or adjustments, keeping in mind that revisions beyond the agreed-upon scope may incur additional fees.
  9. Delivery:
    Upon final approval and receipt of the remaining payment, we deliver the finished content to you in the agreed-upon format and timeframe. Whether it’s digital files, prints, or online uploads, we ensure a seamless delivery process.

Pre-Shoot Tips

  • Plan Your Outfits: Choose outfits that make you feel confident and comfortable. Select colours and styles that reflect your personality and the mood you want to convey in the photos.
  • Grooming: Take time to groom yourself, ensuring your hair, nails, and skin are well-maintained. Consider getting a haircut or manicure if needed to look and feel your best. If using fake tan, ensure there are no streaks and wear loose clothing before changing into the shoot outfit to avoid skin indents from tight clothes. 
  • Location Scouting: Familiarise yourself with the shoot location to feel more relaxed and prepared on the day. Look for areas with natural light or scenic backgrounds that align with your vision.  
  • Bring Props: Bring along any personal items or props that hold significance to you and add depth to the photos. This could include favourite books, musical instruments, or meaningful accessories.  
  • Stay Hydrated and Rested: Prioritise self-care in the days leading up to the shoot by getting enough sleep and staying hydrated. This will help you look and feel refreshed during the session.
  • Communicate Your Preferences: Discuss your vision, preferences, and any concerns with the photographer beforehand. Clear communication ensures everyone is on the same page and helps achieve the desired results.  
  • Arrive Early: Arrive at the shoot location a little early to allow time to settle in and get comfortable. This will help ease any nerves and ensure a smooth start to the session.  
  • Relax and Enjoy: Relax and enjoy the experience! Trust the photographer to capture your natural beauty and personality. Embrace the moment and let your genuine emotions shine through.  
  • Practice Posing: Practice different poses and expressions in front of a mirror to feel more confident during the shoot. Experiment with angles and movements to find what works best for you.
  • Prepare for Weather: Check the weather forecast and dress accordingly if shooting outdoors. Bring layers or umbrellas if needed to stay comfortable and protected from the elements.
  • Stay Energised: Bring along snacks and water to keep your energy levels up throughout the shoot. Taking short breaks to refuel will help you stay focused and present.  
  • Pack Essentials: Double-check that you have all essential items, such as makeup for touch-ups, a brush or comb, and any necessary medications or accessories.  
  • Remove Accessories: Take off smart watches and remove hair ties from wrists to avoid distractions and ensure a clean, polished look in the photos.
  • Be Open-Minded: Be open to trying new ideas and poses suggested by the photographer.  Embrace spontaneity and trust in the creative process to capture beautiful, authentic moments.

 

Pricing

At Aesthetic Edge Media, I understand that every shoot is unique. That’s why I charge on a project-based basis rather than an hourly rate. This approach ensures that you receive a tailored experience that meets your specific needs and vision.

Minimum Engagement Rate

My minimum engagement rate is $500. This rate covers the initial costs of planning and executing your project, ensuring you receive the highest quality service and results.
